FINGERPANTS

OUR STORY

From a piece of paper to FingerPants

FingerPants started with a simple idea, a piece of paper, and a lot of imagination.

The original concept came from Hudson when he was preparing for a Young Entrepreneur Fair in elementary school. Sitting at his desk, he started sketching and experimenting with an idea that was, quite literally, pants for your fingers.

At first, it was just paper.

“I thought it would be funny to make tiny pants that you could actually put on your fingers. I liked fingerboarding, and I thought finger pants would be a cool accessory for it.”

The idea quickly moved from the page to the real world.

Hudson began making different versions and testing different materials. His first pairs were made from paper and staples, and while they weren’t exactly built to last, they caught people’s attention.

When the Young Entrepreneur Fair arrived, Hudson put his little FingerPants on display.

They sold out.

THE BEGINNING OF FINGERPANTS

What started as a funny idea at a school desk had turned into a product that other kids actually wanted.

The success of the fair made Hudson realize there might be something bigger here. But there was one problem: glue wasn’t going to cut it.

“I knew if I wanted to sell FingerPants to more people, they had to be stronger and better made.”

So the experimenting continued.

Hudson learned how to sew and began making new prototypes from fabric. There were different materials, different fits, different designs and plenty of trial and error. Slowly, the little paper pants evolved into something much more durable.

And that’s when FingerPants were born.

A little crazy… but worth pursuing

When Hudson first came home with his paper FingerPants, his parents weren’t entirely convinced.

“My parents probably thought I was a tiny bit crazy when I first showed them.”

But they also knew their son.

They understood that this wasn’t just a random idea he was going to forget about a week later. Hudson was genuinely excited about it, and he was serious about figuring out how to make it work.

His love of fingerboarding was part of the inspiration, but the idea had the potential to go beyond that.

“I thought people who like fingerboarding would think they were cool, but I also thought lots of other people might just want them because they’re fun.”

His parents encouraged him to keep going, believing that any dream is worth pursuing, especially when you’re willing to put in the work to make it real.

Hudson was also lucky to have enthusiastic elementary school teachers who encouraged his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Their support helped turn a funny idea into a real opportunity to learn about business, product development and, most importantly, believing in an idea.

From idea to something real

Today as a teenager in High School, FingerPants are still made with the same curiosity that started the whole thing.

Every version has taught Hudson something new.

The paper prototype taught him to experiment.

The felt prototypes taught him about fit and function.

The glued version taught him what customers liked.

The denim versions taught him how to refine the details and build something that could actually last.

And there is still plenty more to figure out.

What began as an idea scribbled at a school desk has become a real little business, built one tiny pair of pants at a time. FingerPants are now sold internationally!

FingerPants are small. The idea behind them isn’t.

And if there’s one thing Hudson hopes people take away from the story, it’s this:

“If you have an idea, even if it seems a little crazy, you should try it. You never know where it might take you.”
